Safari Car Cardboard Box

Children are full of imagination and I love seeing the fantasy world through my child’s eye. The Safari car craft is another perfect way to enhance that imagination skill in your toddler.

Items that you will need:

  • Large cardboard box
  • Paints and brushes
  • Paper plates
  • Scissors
  • Empty kitchen or toilet paper towel roll

I began the craft by cutting a shape of the car from cardboard. A window was made in the front and the back of the car, while a backwards ‘L’ shape replicated the door – however, I kept the spine intact.

My daughter helped me paint the base colour of the car yellow. I used black paper plates for wheels and painted black spots with creamy yellow in the middle representing the leopard print. The two cardboard rolls were also painted yellow and used for the front lights.

Once inside the safari car, my daughter narrated everything she saw out of the window – and I enjoyed every detail!

Enjoy the journey xx
