Feed the Animals

My daughter loves feeding animals. And looking at her interest, I decided to put together a very simple set using some basic items found commonly in homes. This includes:

• Large cardboard box
• Scissors
• Stuffed animals/puppets, or printout of animal images
• Penne pasta (dyed in green color)
• Measuring pots
• Oats
• Bowls

I started my project by cutting circles for animal’s faces and feet in the box. You can also stick the printed images on the cupboard.  Then I attached different measuring pots underneath each animal and set up bowls of oats and pasta for the feeding game!

As we fed the food items to each animal, we discussed the different animals, their habitats, the noises they make, and the facial features that stands them apart from others. A simple DIY game turned out to be an educative one as well!
